At Sword Apak, we believe in the importance of providing long term, meaningful contributions to our local communities through volunteering and fundraising.
In light of our corporate culture and identity which has a commitment and responsibility that goes beyond the financial services sector that we serve; we have created the Sword Apak Charity Team (ACT). Members span across the business, some have backgrounds in charitable work and the team includes members of the Executive Board and Global Management Team.
The primary purpose of the Apak Charity Team (ACT) is to support, inspire and empower employees into making a difference in their communities within the UK and US. At Sword Apak, we recognise how essential it is to continue encouraging innovation, success and team spirit, where anyone can make a difference.
Each year, we will invite employees to nominate and vote for local and industry related charitable causes close to their hearts and where we can make a real difference. The charities with the highest votes are then announced as the Apak Charity Team Partners.
Mika Curtis, Sales and Marketing Assistant, is heading up the ACT and commented “I am very proud to have been appointed as Chairperson for the ACT. I have been involved with the ACT from the outset and helped pull together the structure of how we would support the chosen charitable groups. Together with our combined sense of responsibility to our community and the desire to bring a deeper purpose to our day-to-day roles, I believe that we can make a real difference and have fun whilst raising valuable funds”.
The ACT has already launched their first initiative to encourage team building, motivation and company-wide participation. Each month, a different department within Sword Apak plans and hosts a fun activity to raise money, or volunteers their time and skills as an act of charity. All money raised by employees throughout the year will be matched by Sword Apak and donated to the chosen charity partners.
These are very exciting times for everyone at Sword Apak, with a variety of ideas for activities already put forward, it should keep us entertained and engaged in raising money for the rest of 2017!
