Postcoding

Postcoding is a comprehensive online address validation tool that analyzes a partially structured address string in order to return a fully formatted address and postcode, utilizing the PAF data set. The unstructured address string input by the user is passed to the Postcoding module, where it is analyzed and matched against the Sword Apak version of PAF. The PAF address is returned, separated into premise, street, district, town, state and postal code elements.

A series of codes is also returned, which indicates whether any assumptions have been made in order to achieve the match. Where a match is not possible, a rejection code is displayed to indicate the reason for the mismatch.
